In just the past couple of years, several local Sacramento coffee roasters and craft brewers have received national recognition for their products. Temple Coffee and Old Soul both had coffees ranked in the top 30 coffees of the year, and New Helvetia, Track 7, Rubicon, Sudwerk, Knee Deep, and Auburn Alehouse have all won awards at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival.
So it only makes sense for our city to host the only Coffee Beer Fest in the nation this Friday, October 28th. This will be the 3rd iteration of the event which grew out of the space at Old Soul at Forty Acres, and will be held this year at the Patris Art Gallery.
There will be 16 breweries, over half of which are from Sac, pouring both a coffee beer and a non-coffee beer. Attendees can vote for their favorite coffee beer by downloading the Beers in Sac app. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening, along with the winners of the commercial coffee beer competition which had 40 entries.
The event will have live music by Jordan McDougal, food available from from The Shack, Vibe Health Bar, and Old Soul and unlimited tastings of lots of great beers. Grab your tickets soon because the space is small and the event will sell out.
